Lakeside Youth

Wednesday nights at lakeside (3rd floor)

Youth group starts @ 6:00pm!

Every Wednesday night at 6:00 the youth students (grades 6-12) of Lakeside Christian Church meet on the 3rd floor for Lakeside Youth. When you come in, you’ll find some of us playing carpet ball, playing Smash Bros, working on homework, or trying to finish the community puzzle. We start our night with a game which can range from casual things like Pictionary or Jeopardy, all the way to running around the entire building looking for hidden treasure while being chased by a Grogg Monster. When the game is over, we have a time of worship and hear a lesson from God’s word together. Our Youth Director, Alex Mack enjoys bringing scripture to relevant topics the students are dealing with today, all while pushing them to think deeper about what it means to have a relationship with our almighty Creator. After the lesson, we split into small groups to unpack any questions or thoughts but more importantly, students get time to share with each other about how life has been going and the struggles they may share. Any leftover time is spent hanging out until 8pm when the leaders kick everyone out. Come check us out and if you have any questions, reach out to Alex.

OUR CORE VALUES:
Everyone is ACCEPTED
Everyone is EXPECTED

We believe that Grace and Growth are inseparably linked. Everyone is welcome just as they are but the Gospel is about growth and change. We will challenge the students to see areas of their life that could use some growth.
John 15:16 "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will last-and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."

Interested in getting involved?

The Lakeside Youth team is a great group to join if you are looking to make a difference in the lives of young people, and make life long friends with the people serving alongside you! Of all of the ministries at Lakeside Christian Church, Youth is one of the bigger time commitments but you will find that it is one of the most rewarding as well. Take a look at the ways you can get involved and be sure to contact Alex if you want to know more!

SUPPORT LEADER - Join us on Wednesday nights and provide support. Support can mean manning the Snack Shack window, running slides during worship, facilitating the big group game, making the weekly announcements, and more! There are a number of odd jobs that need to be done on Wednesday nights and the many hands make light work. If you would like to get involved and get to know the students in our church, consider becoming a Support Leader!

SMALL GROUP LEADER - Join us on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings as a Small Group leader. By becoming a small group leader, you are committing to being consistently present on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings to be in the teens’ lives. Your priority on Wednesday nights would be to engage with the students and actively build your relationships with them while helping them build their relationship with God. If you enjoy mentoring and leading group discussions, consider becoming a Small Group Leader!
